About this speaker
Marcia Lane-McGee is a functional hot mess, and some days that’s all you need to know. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, she is also a writer, speaker, and podcaster. She is also master of the “well, actually,” and an advocate for justice . When she is not desperately trying (and failing) to keep plants alive, she spends her free time traveling, reading, making up words to songs, and trying to find a trivia or karaoke night.
Using her gift of gab, style, and love of God’s people, Marcia enjoys making connections with others in an effort to remind them of their baptismal promises, aid them in relationships with others, and improve self-confidence. When she’s not giving tough love or a big hug, she co-hosts the podcast ""Plaid Skirts and Basic Black” where she shares insight on pop culture, Black culture, and Catholic culture or writing her book of the same theme due in January 2022 from Ave Maria Press.
